Typically, film studio lots are divided into a Front Lot and a Backlot. The Front Lot is an administrative workplace while the backlot is more utilitarian with an emphasis on supporting the creation of content. The master plan for The Culver Studios blurs and blends this distinction between the Front Lot and Backlot. This is done by creating a central in-between space called the Studio Core. This amenity-laden space comprises four new buildings that can function as both administrative workplaces and small studio spaces.

Coo House / Zeropixel Architects

The project concerns the renovation study and then its implementation, in an existing stone house of 1931 in the mountainous Mylopotamos of Crete. The house consists of two floors, a ground floor with a terrace and a basement, twice the size of the space, which extends both in the area of the main use of the house and in the terrace, creating a long narrow space, without natural light and ventilation.

Nymburk Pedestrian Bridge / Strasky, Husty a partneri (SHP)

The pedestrian and cyclist bridge, which is situated between the city’s historic center and town suburb ‘Zálabí’, connects cycling and pedestrian trails running along both banks of the river. Since it is located near a historic arch bridge, it is also formed by an arch structure, but it has a longer span and it has no supports in the river. The bridge structure consists of two outwardly inclined steel arches, on which a bridge deck from prestressed concrete is suspended. The rise of the arches was chosen so that in the predominant part the arches are situated above the heads of pedestrians, and thus do not obstruct their clear view of the historic city and, at the same time, it does not obscure the view of the historic bridge to people walking along the river.

Le 16 Apartments / Taillandier Architectes Associés

« The 16 » is located at the angle of rue de Cugnaux and rue Nungesser et Coli, close to the Arènes station in Toulouse. Rue de Cugnaux is a busy street, in the continuity of route de Saint Simon that constitutes a major entrance axis into Toulouse from La Cépière to the Saint Cyprien neighborhood. Rue de Cugnaux is currently undergoing major development. The constructions along the road alternate between existing individual houses and four-story apartment blocks, recently built or still under construction. Contrary to rue de Cugnaux, rue Nungesser et Coli is defined by an urban fabric of individual houses characteristic of the Toulouse area.

Grenoble Housing / AQMA

The project is located in a rapidly developing area in the heart of the city of Grenoble (France), at the foot of the mountains, close to the train station, and on the edge of the railway tracks. The construction is built in a volumetric continuity with the two neighboring buildings: plot DP1 (office building) and plot DP3 (housing building). We have worked on a set of bleachers/terraces that connect to the levels of the neighbors and which adapt to the orientation of the sun in order to ensure optimal exposure to the living rooms.
