The 12,100 sqm new building for the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at Manchester Metropolitan University brings together a dynamic mix of the performing arts, journalism, and languages alongside the newly established Manchester Poetry Library, a cafe, and public foyers, exhibition space, and a 180-seat studio theatre. Situated on Manchester’s Oxford Road corridor, Grosvenor East provides the university with spaces for teaching and learning, and a highly visible new cultural hub connected to the city.

Alexander Martin Architects has completed a new house for a young family in Claygate, Surrey which reinterprets the surrounding Arts & Crafts aesthetic with a contemporary form. The client sought an innovative response to the site and so the house was rapidly built using modern methods of construction, with simple, robust materials used to create an elegant interior and exterior, redefining the aspirations for suburban architecture.

S-West Complex / Orange Architects

Orange Architects officially announces the completion of S-West. The project is located in the heart of Strijp-S, just to the north of the center of Eindhoven. The plan consists of an ensemble of 4 buildings on a half-sunken car park with a roof garden. All buildings have a character of their own, and together they subtly acknowledge the area’s industrial past. The reference is in the structure of the plan, but also in the smallest details, like the tower ‘Frits’ that is named after the iconic Frits Philips.

Built on a former taxi dispatch site in the Maizeret district, Hubert has 24 accessible or minimally adaptable rental units close to the Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus and the Chemin de la Canardière. The building is located close to the streets to help better frame the urban fabric, allowing to hide the access to the underground parking at the back.

Campus Infobip / 3LHD

Due to its rapid growth, the unicorn IT company Infobip commissioned a new hybrid building in Zagreb. The company chose a location on the southern edge of Zagreb that is well connected in terms of infrastructure. The plot is located in an entropic and poorly regulated area with low-rise medium-density multi-dwelling buildings lacking both articulated public space and natural surroundings.
