Learning by Doing: Creating Meaningful Spaces

July 3, 2020 Rene Submissions 0

The relationship between space and well-being has always been a key consideration at IE University’s School of Architecture & Design. As this concept becomes increasingly widespread, the boundaries of what’s possible are being pushed. By providing students with a global vision of architecture and design, they are able to create multipurpose spaces that boost well-being and remain flexible as needs evolve.

In the Bachelor in Architectural Studies, students engage in project-based learning to develop a broad and creative skill set, while also mastering the essentials of what it means to be an architect. The recent projects designed by four current students serve as perfect examples of the way IE University fosters an entrepreneurial spirit and prepares them for a successful future.

Communicating Ideas by Previewing Reality

June 24, 2020 Rene Submissions 0

The exchange of ideas and concepts is a major part of any large modern building project. Architects, investors, general and sub-contractors all use different tools to evaluate a design, ranging from renders to fly-throughs or 2D drawings. This can lead to communication difficulties. Reynaers discovered that by placing collaborators from different disciplines into its Avalon virtual reality room, the fog of misunderstandings evaporates. As visitors literally step inside and experience a 3D visualization of architectural models, they imagine together what the end result will look like and can make decisions on the spot.
