Located in the suburban district of Taipei City, this apartment is in the residential quarters at the border of the mountainside and close to a small forest. Located on the 5th floor, the apartment is right in the dense part of the tree branches. The whole concept is inspired by trees. We wanted to create a “Tree House” like an apartment, a greenish, ventilated, and tranquil place where its inhabitant can feel its natural environment, a peaceful and undisturbed space from the outside world.

The Axis of Peace / HAKUTEN

October 25, 2021 chlsey 0

In conjunction with the renewal of Peace Central Park in Yokosuka, we designed a monument that symbolizes peace and that would remind everyone of the idea of peace, which has now almost disappeared. The history of the park is that it was built on the site of the Yonegahama gun emplacements that were used during the war. After dark, this monument becomes a “Light of Peace Turret” that shines the light of peace into the sky, representing the axis of universal peace. The light, which is over 1000 meters long, can be seen from a distance, allowing people to feel the thoughts of peace in their daily lives.

By making an appropriate and yet unfamiliar suggestion, it grants identity to the anonymous commercial street which is consist of a row of buildings that only exist as a facade covered with commercial signs. ‘project Re-interpret’ is an extension/renovation work that connects two 40-years-old buildings into one, in addition, to make each of them vertically extend.
