Conventional Retailing Walls Designing and Some Numbers About

Conventional retailing walls are divided into four types:1. Gravity retaining structures- which stability is depend on the self weight of the wall. This type is not economical so is rare used. 2. Semi- gravity retaining structures- which contain minimum amount of reinforcement for the wall reducing its size. 3. Cantilever retaining walls – here is used a reinforced concrete with thin stem and slab base. This is relatively economical type which is mostly used. Conventional Retailing Walls Designing and Some Numbers About

4. Counter-fort/ Buttressed retaining walls- these are similar with the previous one. But, thin slab stems may be used at some interval to tie the base slab and stem. This is in order to reduce the shear force and bending moment for more economical design. How this looks like and the numbers important for this walls design are given bellow.
