Know the differences between the pointing and plastering. If you like to do some do it yourself project, you must learn some of the basic characteristics of the materials and the types of work. First of all, in pointing you should use cement mortar, and you will need less of the material. Also, pointing is used for the outside part of the wall. On the other hand, for the plastering you need to use combination of lime, sand and cement. Besides the outside parts, with plastering, you can do the inside of the walls.
