Parking Structure CAD Plans – Free Multi-Level Car Park DWG Download

Multi-level parking structure architecture CAD

Parking structures are a critical component of modern urban development, providing essential vehicle storage for mixed-use towers, shopping centers, hospitals, and transport hubs. Designing an efficient multi-level car park requires careful attention to ramp geometry, bay dimensions, drive aisle widths, and structural column placement. This article presents a sample multi-level parking structure and provides a free DWG download that architects and civil engineers can adapt for their own projects.

Case Study – 6-Level Above-Ground Car Park

Our reference project is a standalone six-level above-ground parking structure with 600 spaces arranged on a split-level plan. The structure uses a 16-meter-wide double-loaded bay module with 90-degree parking on both sides of a central drive aisle. A continuous ramping system connects levels through a dedicated ramp tower at one end of the building, keeping the main parking floor clear of ramp conflicts.

The DWG file provides a complete typical floor plan, ramp section, and roof level layout with overflow visitor parking. All car spaces, drive aisles, and columns are dimensioned and drawn to scale.

Parking Bay Layout and Aisle Dimensions

Standard parking bay dimensions vary by country, but the CAD set uses a 2.5 by 5-meter bay as the default, with a 6-meter drive aisle for 90-degree parking. This is a widely applicable standard that balances space efficiency with ease of maneuvering. The CAD file includes separate layers for standard bays, disabled bays, and motorcycle spaces, so you can quickly calculate bay counts and check compliance with accessibility requirements.

You can easily rescale the bay module or adjust the drive aisle width to match local building codes by stretching the relevant blocks in AutoCAD.

Structural Grid and Column Placement

The structural grid in this parking layout uses 8-meter bays in one direction and 16 meters in the other, creating a clear-span arrangement that maximizes the number of parking spaces per column line. Columns are positioned at the ends of parking bays rather than in the middle of drive aisles, improving driver visibility and reducing the risk of minor collisions.

Ramp Design and Vehicle Circulation

The ramp tower uses a split-level ramping system that reduces the overall height of the structure while providing efficient one-way circulation. Up and down ramps are separated within the tower to prevent conflicts. The ramp gradient in the DWG is set at 1 in 8 (12.5%), a common standard that balances space efficiency with safe driving conditions.
