Climate-Driven Design
Wenzhou, a city that has a name hinting at a mild climate. This prompted us to imagine a more intimate connection between people and nature, emphasizing more outdoor activities and living specifically. The climatic context became the genesis for conceptualizing the Wenzhou Medical University International Exchange Center. The specific site, embraced by continuous tree canopies, makes a pleasing landscape.

The National School of Business is a higher education institution offering both graduate and post-graduate courses in business management. Driven by a collaboration-focused, holistic pedagogy, NSB has cemented itself as one of Bangalore’s reputed business schools. In response to their rapid growth, the institution conceived of a new center of academia adjacent to its existing campus. Working with the institution’s board of directors, we developed a vision for this new block: a unique, landmark form that would refresh the institution’s identity and exemplify its community-centric ethos, all while fulfilling the heavy programmatic requirements.

Feni College Boddhobhumi Sritisthombho Complex / Vector Plinth

The project site, located in Feni, was one of the most crucial war zones in 1971. Even after 52 years of independence, the people of Feni weep recalling the casualty of the war. Feni Government College students boldly portrayed the war’s terrors in a school play called “Goalpost.” They conveyed a message to the audience about how the Muktibahini (Freedom Fighters) were fatally persecuted on the goalpost of the college field. The project’s architects took inspiration from the horrific history of the “goalpost” and initiated the idea of an abstract monumental goalpost – symbolizing the incident of the suspended martyrs. The notion was to revive the memory of the martyrs so that young students could understand and appreciate the sacrifices made in 1971.

The program of demands requires 4 identical nursery classes, as well as a multifunctional hall, a refectory, some storage facilities, a kitchen, a staff room, and a nursery  (STEP 1). We suggest combining the classes two by two, arranging them back to back. Each class has its storage room with sanitary facilities (STEP 2).
