The Preserve South Beach Building / Gensler

June 18, 2024 Hadir Al Koshta 0

The Preserve South Beach creates an identity all its own in the Miami skyline with its new headquarters. Paying homage to Miami Beach’s rich architectural history, the new hub bridges past and present by incorporating elements of the city’s signature Art Deco style with a modern glass window façade. It marries the company’s hospitality roots with its home base’s heritage using a palette of natural elements and expressed stucco floor plates, seamlessly interlacing the landscape into its Gensler-led design. The result is an innovative and uniquely Miami headquarters that is launching its neighborhood’s evolution from a mere resort town to a successful mixed-use community.

Tiered Realm House and Studio / Fictional Project

June 17, 2024 Pilar Caballero 0

“Tiered Realm” draws on the visualization of ‘home’ not just as a dwelling for two individuals but also as a space for one’s work & community – a world abuzz with creative energy and the spirit of the individual finding meaning within the collective. This residence-cum-studio is designed for an artist couple who work with mixed media & textiles, respectively. The home was conceived as a container for the dynamic dance between work, life, the celebration of collaborative artistic processes, and long-standing friendships. The project is situated in Ambattur, on the outskirts of Chennai – a neighborhood representative of sprawling Indian suburbia, with brightly painted 2-3 story houses occupying tightly apportioned plots of land. “Tiered Realm” deviates from the typical ‘BHK’ format, its burnished brick façade unfolding gently upwards from the street along the west edge of the site, concealing a tapestry of interwoven spaces united by a communicative vertical void.

ESPAI HB Office / HB Estudi d’Arquitectura

June 13, 2024 Pilar Caballero 0

HB comes from the need to create a spacious, comfortable, and pleasant space when working. That’s why an old warehouse space without natural lighting is converted into an open-plan, bright, and welcoming workspace. The main challenge of this project was to rehabilitate the premises while maintaining the essence of the place also adapting it to HB Estudi’s style and the current architectural trends.

68-86 Farringdon Road Building / Sheppard Robson

June 10, 2024 Valeria Silva 0

68-86 Farringdon Road’s complex and constrained site – previously a multi-story car park – informed a bold design language for a new hotel and office building that celebrates the area’s eclecticism. Situated between Bowling Green Lane and Vineyard Walk along Farringdon Road, the mixed-use development is formed of a new 180-key hotel for Whitbread’s hub by Premier Inn brand that neighbors a speculative office building for CLI Dartriver. Animating the streetscape of this bustling London thoroughfare are retail spaces, the hotel’s café, and the office’s reception at ground floor level.
