Zinc cladding and large stretches of glass feature in The Suspension House, a two-storey 1970s building that San Francisco-based Fougeron Architecture remodelled and enlarged for a couple and their child.
While conceiving the revamp, the studio set out to “reconnect” the dwelling to the landscape and reduce its impact on the creek it bridges. But commenters aren’t sold on its “corporate” design.
“A lovely creek fatally injured by an awkward, ostentatious house,” wrote one.
