See unusual Japanese houses in this week’s Pinterest board

We’ve updated our Japanese houses Pinterest board with pictures from new projects, including a house in Osaka with 16 different floor levels and a minimal square building clad in black corrugated metal. Follow Dezeen on Pinterest or visit our updated board to see more.

The sloping roof of Hara House extends all the way down the ground, giving the building a triangular shape

New additions to the Pinterest board include a white bunker-like house, designed by FujiwaraMuro Architects to showcase the owner’s sports car and a timber-clad bungalow with three internal courtyards where the owners can grow fruit trees and dry clothes.

Residents walk over wooden blocks and shelves to move between the different levels of this house

The board also features images of less traditional houses, such as a skinny house slotted in between two buildings in a four-metre wide space, as well as a home in an agricultural village by Takeru Shoji Architects that resembles a tent.

Dezeen’s Pinterest account features thousands of images, organised into hundreds of boards. Follow us on Pinterest to keep up to date with our latest pins.
