Watch Kim Cook talk about Burning Man live from World Architecture Festival

Burning Man festival director Kim Cook wraps up World Architecture Festival 2017 with this talk on building temporary cities in the Nevada desert. Watch the livestream here from 4.40pm UK time.

The livestream is now live. You can watch it above or on Dezeen’s Facebook page.

Cook, the director of art and civic engagement for Burning Man, explores how the festival sits in a wider context of urban community.

Each year, 70,000 people build a temporary city in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert for the event, comprising artworks and structures of varying scales and materials. Festival founder Larry Harvey spoke to Dezeen about the need for urban design in this context during an interview in 2015.
