Chic Interiors Touched By The Tranquility Of Nature

A calming ambience radiates from the simplicity of these two chic home designs, where a peaceful greige palette offers subtle warmth. Free from jarring, colourful accents, indoor plants are employed to instil an uplifting vibe. Modern furniture design introduces a dash of the unexpected in unique silhouettes and materials. In home number one, large living room windows open up a perimeter of green garden views, better than any wallpaper design. Our second featured home is a city apartment. Here, mini indoor courtyards, large planters and rugged rock elements build a landscaped look. The natural accents make the high-rise home feel connected to the outside world and all of the beauty that Mother Nature has to offer.

This private home in Germany features a double height living room with enormous wraparound windows. The dual aspect absorbs most of the green garden, which gives the sitting area an uplifting indoor-outdoor connection.

Greige drapes hang heavily at the dual-aspect windows, creating soft framing. An L-shaped modular sofa arrangement gives the lounge a cosy and welcoming appeal.

Two modern lounge chairs create a curvaceous accompaniment.

A modern coffee table sits low in the centre of the living room furniture arrangement. A small selection of coffee table books provides simple adornment. Two small side tables make a light-reflective moment.

The large area rug makes textural contrast with the coordinating grey concrete floor treatment. A gold floor lamp brings in a warm metallic accent beside the pale sofa, where it provides focussed reading light.

A fabulous light installation creates an artistic splash above the living room. Recessed LEDs drop a soft glow around the perimeter of the room.

A modern fireplace is set into the bottom of an impossibly tall and slender chimney breast. At one side of the fireplace, a set of steps lead the way to an elevated second living room.

Inside the second living space, a contemporary couch design is softly curved around the edges of its linear form. The sectional sofa arrangement faces in multiple directions to offer social interaction or tranquil enjoyment of the garden views.

Two more modern side tables match the style of those in the main room.

A round rug creates a soft island underneath the small side tables and the sectional sofa. Unique floor lamps suspend wide black shades over the light couch upholstery, causing stark contrast.

An open plan dining room is viewable from both living rooms. Modern upholstered dining chairs seat up to eight people at the table.

Two linear suspension lights thread gold accents above the full length of the long rectangular dining table.

Black track lights cut across the ceiling to disperse a more even illumination.

The wooden dining table is complemented by a wood-clad TV wall. A floating stone console shelf solidly underlines the screen.

Beyond the formal dining area, there is an L-shaped kitchen installation with a central dining island. Modern wooden bar stools seat three people along the breakfast bar.

Two minimalistic black stem lights descend on the kitchen island countertop and cooktop.

In New York, USA, this 340 square metre apartment overlooks the city. Large windows accept an influx of light. Sheer drapes frame the breathtaking view.

A unique modern sofa resembles stacked logs. A small tree is potted behind it to introduce a spray of vibrant foliage. A greige living room rug unfurls an island of texture.

The striking black living room floor lamp is the
Opal Arc by Tom Dixon.

Modern artwork brings a pastel rainbow of colour and life to the pale perimeter.

A rugged rock-based coffee table design adds an earthy element to the light living room scheme.

Curved armchairs are teamed with a small side table and the Opal Arc floor lamp to create a comfortable reading area.

A stone hearth underlines a suspended TV mount to create a chic focal wall.

Decorative bowls, magazines, and vases add tasteful decoration to the stone hearth.

The large television can be viewed from the sitting area, from the dining spot behind the couch, and in the open plan kitchen.

The coffee table book is by Axel Vervoordt: Wabi Inspirations.

At the back of the living space, a wooden kitchen makes dark contrast with the rest of the light room decor.

Small shrubs are potted around the base of the tree to create a mini courtyard appearance.

Three dining room pendant lights form an oversized trio above the length of a remarkable stone dining table design.

A glass tabletop rests on top of a raw rock base.

A simple fruit bowl makes a modern dining table centrepiece.

Unique stone dining chairs seat six people.

In the kitchen, an enormous extractor hood makes an astounding statement. Its pure white finish contrasts crisply against the mellow greige backdrop.

The triangular extractor hood design complements a three-sided kitchen island.

Unusual kitchen bar stools gently echo the relaxed triangular shape theme.

Black kitchen appliances meld darkly with the walnut cabinets. Light countertops provide clean contrast.

A modern kitchen faucet drops in a gleaming brass accent.

Floor plan. From a birds-eye view, we can see how the modern sofa design is slightly angular, which complements the shape of the kitchen island and extractor hood. We can also observe how negative space plays an important role in making the room appear spacious and free-flowing.
